The documentary addresses the questions, who are the film industry’s female faces? What are their voices, which experiences have they had, and above all: What do they wish for the future? In an interview format, the documentary focuses on the protagonists and their individual experiences. The ensemble includes nearly 30 actors, writers, directors, and producers. By means of personal conversations, the audience gains an intense and authentic insight into the lives of those working in film. During the filming in the following year, male-diverse participants were also invited to create a multifaceted discourse. The topics include structural and individual issues such as gender equality, power structures, female diversity, and much more. In dialogue with the participants, the documentary looks toward the future: Where are there promising approaches already, where are the opportunities for (self-)empowerment, and how can we initiate change, both individually and collectively?

Unter uns is a German television soap opera, first broadcast on RTL on 28 November 1994. Centered around the lives of the people in a residential house, which is set in the fictional Schillerallee in Cologne. Since the show debuted the baker's family Weigel is the series core family. Unter uns isn't based on a foreign soap opera like Verbotene Liebe or Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten. After Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten, the show was the second daily soap for RTL, followed years later in 2006 by Alles was zählt. The show aired its 3,500th episode on 30 December 2008.

Police officers Kessel and Driller are supposed to be on the lookout for an internationally wanted war criminal. But Kessel is a junkie, gets into a fight with a young dealer and runs the man over. His colleague Driller covers all the tracks, but cannot prevent an ambitious public prosecutor from trying to solve the incident. However, the two of them have a much bigger problem: the crime has made Kessel vulnerable to blackmail.

Macho Alex is smart and good-looking. He is known among women as an unscrupulous hunter. He wraps the women in rows around his fingers and then disappears into his sports car. The womanizer Alex then pushes it a little too far, because three love affairs at the same time are too many even for the greatest professional.

Daniel no longer wants to know anything about his job at the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. After a tragic accident during a surveillance operation in the neo-Nazi scene, he tries to resign. Instead of pursuing his request, he is housed in a run-down apartment in Berlin's Neukölln district for his own protection. To his own surprise, Daniel quickly makes friends not only with his new, unfamiliar surroundings, but also with the Arab second-hand goods dealer Abbas. But just as Daniel begins to take heart, his boss from the Office for the Protection of the Constitution turns up on Daniel's doorstep. He has anything but good news in his luggage...
